Did you end up doing it? I’m hoping to take this path. Though I am only entering the world of flight, I have 20+ years teaching and coaching and love doing it. I watched a video of a lady pilot that got nearly 1,000 hours under her belt through this path, went on to train air force pilots, and now flies an air ambulance. I wonder how much the insurance would be on a bush at being used for training by an instructor with 150 hours. 🤔

I just learned about air density today. It’s surprising that the Bushcat should perform better on a ⛄️ day like the one in the video than on a hot day.

I’m hopping to purchase a used Bushcat. You mentioned many revisions. Which year or model, represents the most changes, so I know not to purchase the earlier revisions.

I hope to fly my wife around at some point too. It’s a goal I’ve just started chasing. I’m hoping to do so in a bushcat too. 🦓

Carol & I are just a few miles South of you across the border. We have chickens and a barn full of rescue cats & dogs. We should get together some time. Many times I have cried like a baby burying a furry friend.

It's a shame that Skyreach discontinued making these. At least they are still supplying parts. I came very close to buying one of these. I wound up with an Aeroprakt A-22 instead, but still think this is a great plane.

Tom, I know what you and your wife are experiencing. I lost my buddy I had for 17 1/2 years last fall; it’s not easy. It’s something that animal lovers all experience. Ted Nugent had his dog pass away a month or so ago, and he said he cried for the better part of a week. Been there and done that, and will again because I love animals, but I am not looking forward to it…

Thanks for sharing your other side. I have always wondered. I am 58 and we have always had a dog or two. Naturally we have lost a few. Every time i swear never again after loosing one, but we always do. I am sure you brought bear a lot of joy. Sorry for your loss.

That was a very moving and beautiful tribute. It’s so hard to lose a family pet. We had our dog T. Rex (Min-pin hound mix) for 17 great years. They’re always with you. When you can, get out and fly your plane with Sharon. Enjoy the good times. We’re looking forward to your upcoming adventures.😀

Dear Tom, you and your lovely wife have my deepest deepest condolences on the loss of your precious one: honestly with an open heart exactly how you feel. I have been there my friend and it is not easy. It has been almost 30 years and watching your video of y’all loss brought up a very lot of strong emotions of my own I’d like to say in time you will feel better unfortunately you will not, just hold onto those good moments and those precious memories and they will get you. I like everyone else has probably watched every single one of your videos honestly more than once or twice and for you to open up and let us in on the other side of your world and what you’re going through is a privilege and an honor to be part of that once again my deepest condolences on your loss

Sorry about your loss. Dogs are the greatest, most loyal, and noble creatures imaginable. They ask for nothing and give us everything they’ve got, usually right up to the very end. We never have enough time with them.

The price of loving a dog is a broken heart. I'm sorry.
